Psychologist

campbellCampbell has over 15 years experience working with individuals and groups. His guiding principle is that all humans can connect with meaning, purpose and fulfilment given the opportunity. He is influenced by the emerging field of Positive Psychology which is the scientific study of the conditions of mental health and wellness, rather than simply the treatment of mental illness. In this way he is motivated to help people not only to deal with suffering but also to help them create conditions to thrive and flourish.

Campbell belongs to the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the leading professional body for Psychologists in Australia. He was a founding committee member of the APS Interest Group Coaching Psychology for NSW in 2004.

In 2008 he was asked to be one of the coaches in a 3-year study run by The Coaching Psychology Unit Sydney University, the first of its type in the world. This study, the Australian Research Council Linkages Project "Leadership and Coaching in High Stress Organisations", is researching how leaders in large organisations can reconnect with inner purpose and develop as human beings, while creating positive emotional spaces for the people who work with them.

An area of specialty has been in coaching leaders and executives in the private sector in companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Mercer, Santos, Blake Dawson, Clayton Utz, Austereo, and Prime Practice. In the public sphere he has worked with the AFP, Defence Housing Australia, ACT Health, Indigenous Business Australia, Centrelink, and Defence Community Organisation, Communities at Work, Defence Materiel Organisation and Prince of Wales Hospital.
